It’s that spooooky time of year again (so soon it feels) and when it comes to Halloween in our house we are very much of the opinion go big or go home! We’ve had skeletons and pumpkins hanging from the windows for over two weeks now and half term is jam packed with ghoulish kind-of-fun for us both!
It seems to get bigger every year, don’t you think and I am sure it wasn’t such a big deal when we were growing up? Which I guess is one of the reasons I love getting really into it with Baby Town. I love the crafty side, digging out our pumpkins and baking up batty biscuits. I love choosing our outfits, getting all the kids together for trick or treating and enjoying one of the few nights where we can ignore the dreaded sugar-rush!!
So to help you out, here’s our top picks for all you Scary Mary Moma’s and Dastardly Dads who want to enjoy the next few spooky weeks with your little pre-schooling pumpkins…….

We love this place, it’s our go-to on a Saturday afternoon to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday crazy kid life (take a read about one of our many visits here). And over the half term they have some extra fun activies planned. They have given their Activity Barn a spooky makeover, there are Halloween crafts going on and of course pumpkin carving too. They will also be unveiling their new autumn themed Codebreaker Trail (competitive dads are welcome)!

You’ll know from our blog that the nature reserve at Brueton Park is one of our absolute favourites when we want to spend some time in the great outdoors. And every Monday and Friday the centre run lovely drop-in classes for little ones, with half term as no exception. In fact they are planning a spooky time where you can make magic potions, learn about the animals brave enough to head out on Halloween and there will be lots of games for the little monsters too. Booking is always advised.
When? Friday 26th October, 5pm – 8pm
How much? Freeeeeee
We love a boogie, especially a free boogie with games and in fancy dress! This is THE place to be this coming Friday. I like it here because it is the very few places I can actually enjoy and finish a meal whilst my little horror has fun playing! But if you do intend on chowing down, I suggest booking your table pronto, it gets super busy here.
Enjoy your Spooktacular half term with your little monsters, I know I will! And if you know of anything else super spook-fabulous for the under five’s let me know. Keep your eyes peeled on our insta, we’ll be sharing all our visits with any tips and tricks we discover!
Here’s our practice run at getting our Halloween faces on!!
